Case Study: Real Life

*****WARNING******: This is a very serious Case Study. It also contains explicit language so if you are offended by that please exit now. We decided it was time to show the other side of our writing ablities and do something not so comical. This is also based on real life crap we go through, and is based on a situation Gro is currently facing in his life. Please read with all this in mind.

*Screen fades in. We see Gro in his dressing room looking at a picture. The camera pans around the room and shows Gro as a tear rolls down his cheek.

*A knock is heard at the door and Gro straightens up and tries to dry his eyes.

Smo: Yo, we start in 5.

Gro: Thanks bro.

Smo: No prob, you feeling ok?

Gro: Yea doing fine man thanks.

Smo: See ya in 5. Peace.

*Smo leaves and as the door is heard shutting Gro buries his head in his hands. Dropping the picture to the floor. The camera pans down to reveal the picture of Gro and his ex-girlfriend.

Gro: *talking as if the picture hears him* I loved you, at least I thought I did, and I thought you loved me too. But none of that matters now does it?! None of the calls, none of the nights we spent together, none of the love I gave you. Not a damn thing!! *bangs fist on the desk* I gave you a piece of me and now I can never get that back! Nothing can repair this hole I let happen. *continues crying*

*Gro gets out of his chair and paces the room. Suddenly, he stops in front of the mirror.

Gro: *looking into the mirror* And you!! How could you let this happen?! How could you be so naive?! How could you believe a word she said and how could you let yourself be hurt like that?!? And why didn't you do everything to make her happy to make her want to stay?!! Why didn't you try harder so she could love you and be happy with you?!! You're a failure, a loser. and nothing you can do will make up for what you've done!! This is all your fault!!!

*Gro picks up his mug with his name on it and the inscription "Chase your dreams" and hurls it at the mirror shattering the mug and mirror into little pieces.

Gro:*thinking out loud* What a joke it was! You knew it couldn't last. You came up with the theory yourself. No one will love you. You're worthless and you're nothing! She was everything you had and you pushed her away. She loved you, or at least she said she did. Now because of you she is with someone else and happier. He's not a blundering fool like you are. He's got everything you don't, and you'll never have anything because you are a loser.

*Gro sinks into the corner and begins sobbing loudly.

*Smo walks in to see the shattered glass and Gro in the corner and the picture of him and his ex on the floor.

Smo: *thinking to himself* What the hell is going on in here?!

*Gro looks up to see Smo. Smo sits down on the couch being sure not to sit on any glass as the camera pans out. We see the shattered mirror reflecting a piece of the mug that reads dreams.

*A few minutes of silence passes. Gro's sobbing is all that is heard.

Smo: Why do we have to be so fucking attracted to women?

*Silence.

Smo: *holding and looking at the piece of the mug that reads "dreams"* I guess that's an irrelevant question. This isn't as bad as you're making it. You're only 19 years old, and you're treating this like you've lost the one and only love of your life. No woman is worth all this shit. Endlessly crying, breaking glass... I mean what the fuck, dude?! You set yourself up for this. You're the only reason you feel like this. It's not her fault. Maybe she treated you wrong, but that's irrelevant to all this. You're the only one that can control you. You're the one that puts yourself in this kind of situation. I've seen it happen too many times. Call me what you want, hate me if you want, but I've never and I mean never done this to myself because of a girl. It's not worth it. There's so many more important things in life than this. If she doesn't want to be with you, then she's not good enough for you. She's not worth your time. In my opinion, you're wasting time acting like this. You've got a life to live, a degree to get, and you've got to have fun and enjoy the shit life throws at you. You want to sit around and wallow in your self pity, then go for it. I can't control you, and you can't control any person, any place, or any thing. You've got to talk some sense into yourself. I've been through some bad shit. I've lost in some pretty bad ways. I now laugh about all those things. The longest I ever cried about this kind of thing was probably about 15 minutes. Sure you'll be down for a few days, but that's natural. But this! This throwing stuff into the mirror and breaking a mug that I bought for you...that I had specially inscribed for you...this is uncalled for. If you're gonna let a girl destroy all the money I spent on this for a brother, then you need to reprioritize. You're stronger and better than this, and I know it!

*Smo gets up and walks out leaving Gro alone again.

*Gro get's up and slowly starts sweeping up the glass. He pauses briefly to bend down and pick up the picture. With a piece of broken glass Gro carves himself out of the picture. He lays it on his desk and throws the remainder into the bag of glass.

*The screen fades to black.

Believe it or not, we have real life problems just like everybody else. We're not happy, funny guys all the time. Thanks for reading.
