| Case Study: Peaceful Dreams |

Music fades in and we see Smo starting the show. Gro is absent.
Smo is laid back in a recliner watching TV. He turns it off and puts his chin in his hand in deep thought All is silent for several moments. A fine lady walks in behind Smo, and he doens't even notice. Lady: (Clears throat)...Excuse me. Smo: (Not turning around to look)... Yes? Lady: (Clears throat again) Smo: (Still not turning around)...What?! The fine lady taps Smo on the shoulder. Smo: (Turns around) Oh hey, can i help you? Smo turns back around and returns to his thinking. The look on his face suddenly turns to a puzzled look. He gives a double take behind him and appears shocked. Smo: Oh...why hello... are you lost? Lady: No, I know exactly where I am. Smo: Are you sure? What place are you looking for, exactly? Lady: I'm looking for the NGFL studio. Smo: Hmmm...this is very interesting... may I ask why you are looking for the NGFL studio? (Ponders where could Gro be and miss this.) Lady: I need to talk to Smo. He seems sweet and I think he's kinda cute. Smo: (Eyes go wide) Oh really now?! Well I'm Smo and this is the NGFL studio. (Thinks yes, no Gro!) Lady: Well I'm glad to meet you. You seemed like such a sweet guy, and my friend Kelsy said you were great. I just had to come talk to you and see for myself. Smo's jaw drops, and he quickly picks it up. Smo: Well, well...this is a surprise. We don't see many females around here. (Ponders for a moment). We dont' ever see any actually. Smo starts to wonder if Gro's gonna show up and ruin his moment. Lady: Well i'm glad you get a surprise. Smo: (Under his breath) Suprise? This is flat out shocking! So what do you want to talk about? Lady: Well Kelsy said that the other night you were talking to her, and somehow you got into a conversation, and you were joking about dreaming about her. She said you went into detail about the dream. She said it was so romantic, and she couldn't believe you were single. Smo: Yes I remember that conversation. (Turns to side camera and says quietly.) In vivid detail actually. Lady: Could you re-create that moment for me? Smo: (Looks at the camera and winks) Oh I think I can try. Lady: Alright! (Lady sits down on the couch and gets comfy.) 
Smo: To simplify things, I will just tell you the dream as it happened. The sun was setting over the horizon. The wind was blowing. I could hear it clearly. I could hear the seagulls and the waves swooshing up on the shore. The sound of the wind blowing through the palm trees. It was like I was really there. The stars were beginning to come out, and you could see the moon. It wasn't too warm, and it wasn't too cool. It was just right for cuddling. Kelsy and I laid there in the sand and talked about where we had been and what we had done in our lifetime. Sometimes we'd just get quiet and listen to the sounds of nature. It was very soothing and romantic. After lying there for a while, we decided to get up and walk along the shore. We walked far enough down where the waves would wash over our feet. She held my hand as we walked. We talked about our dreams and what we wanted to do with our lives. Occasionally, we would just be quiet and listen to the sounds around us. Eventually, we came to a spot where there were some houses in the distance. From one of the houses we could hear music. It was slow, romantic music. Something you would hear off a Marvin Gaye album. We started dancing. We talked a little bit, but mostly we just looked at each other. Eye to eye, we completely understood each other without saying a word. As the night went forward, we continued walking and talking. We just enjoyed each others comapany. Under the moonlight, we listened to the sounds of the wind blowing. We listened to the seagulls and waves washing ashore. It was very peaceful. (Smo and the lady both seem to be in a daze. After a few moments of silence, they both snap back to reality.) Lady: Oh that was soooo romantic. I see what Kelsy was talking about now. I wished my boyfriend was as romantic as you. He's such a butthead sometimes. Smo cringes and lowers his head in shame. The screen goes fuzzy and we get to hear the thoughts inside Smo's head. Creepy music starts, and the sound of a door creaking is heard. Smo's thoughts: Arg!!! Another NGFL story! She's going out with a jerk that she wishes was as romantic as me. I'm single. What's holding her back? The age old truth will live on. I can feel it coming. Screen goes back to normal. Smo: Well I AM available and open for opportunity. Lady: (Ponders for a moment) You know...I've been looking for someone like you for a long time. I don't need that jerk anyway. Smo: (Is shocked to the point of almost falling out of the chair, but catches himself.) Well..uhh..do you want to..uhhh...do you want to go out for dinner and movie? Lady: Sounds great! Smo: (Falls out of chair in shock. Quickly composes himself.) All right!!! Smo and lady walk out of the studio. The screen goes wavy and blurs beyond any sort of clarity. After clearing up, we see Smo laid back in a recliner, snoring. Smo: zzzzZZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzz...... A door slams and Gro comes walking in. Gro: Hey Smo! Smo: ZZZZZzzzzzZZZzzz...... Gro: Smo?!? Smo: ...zzzZZZzzzzzzZZZZZZzzz..... Gro walks over and shakes Smo. Smo wakes up and comes back to reality. He looks around for a moment then slams his fist down on the arm of the recliner. Smo: BLAST!! That was so real I thought it really happened. NGFL once again! Gro: What are you talking about? The screen fades out as Smo starts telling Gro about his dream. |
