| Case Study: Smo Through the Ceiling |

*Camera fades in and pans out giving the audience a full view of Smo in a studio control room. A song is playing back
over the speakers. Smo appears to be focusing very hard on the song as he pushes and turns random buttons and knobs.
*Hubb walks in from outside. He pauses to listen to the music and appears to be swept away by it. Closes his eyes and begins following the guitar solo on his brand new air guitar. *Smo turns around and sees Hubb and turns down the volume. Hubb continues soloing away. Smo: *coughs* Yo, Hubb. Hubb: *begins making guitar noises with his mouth as he continues soloing* *Smo finds Hubb's guitar playing amusing. He sits and watches and just laughs at Hubb* Hubb: *suddenly stopping* Oh...uhh...sorry about that. I didn't realize the music had stopped. That track was kick ass, Smo! Is that a new track for the album? Smo: Naw, man. Just a track Gro and I recorded a long time ago. He was playing the rhythm while I soloed. Hubb: Awww man. That track rocked. I could have fallen asleep to that. Smo: Thanks, dude. What's up? Hubb: I just came in here to tell ya that Gro was bringing some chick here. Smo: *turns around like it's no big deal then pauses and turns back around* What did you say?! Hubb: I said Gro's stopping by here, and he's going to have a chick with him. Smo: Really?! You sure you don't mean Manny? Hubb: No man I mean....*Hubb is interrupted by the door opening* Gro: Yo, guys what's crack'n? *A girl enters in behind Gro. Smo: Not much, what's up with you? Hubb: Yea man, what's up with you? *Smo and Hubb exchange looks waiting to hear the explanation. Gro: We're just about go into my office and watch these movies we rented. It's nice and quite here all the time so I thought it'd be the perfect place to come. Smo: Ahhhh..."watching movies" eh? Sounds cool. You kiddos have fun and behave. Gro: *laughs* Yea...we will. Hubb: *talking to Gro as he walks out with his girl* Yea...don't do anything I wouldn't do! *laughing* Smo: How in the heck did he get a date? Hubb: ...not only a date, but a girl that would come and watched rented movies with him....in his office?! Smo: Yea for real! *Hubb and Smo look up and their eyes meet as light bulbs go off over their heads. Hubb: Are you thinking what I'm thinking? *Without answering Smo gets up and walks over to the couch where he removes a tile from the ceiling and climbs up. He slowly begins crawling toward Gro's office. Hubb smiles and follows. *Camera goes up through the ceiling and we now see Smo and Hubb making their way through the NGFL HQ ceiling. Smo: *whispering* We're almost there. Hubb: *whispering* Just take it easy. I'd hate to fall through and ruin this. *laughs quietly* Smo: I think it's right here. *lifts up a tile to reveal Manny in the bed with a couple of girls* *Hubb crawls around to look down and jumps back at the sight below. Smo: Oops, wrong one. *replaces the tile then turns around and lifts up another one* Ahh...here we go. *Hubb makes his way to the new opening and gets comfortable. *The camera shows an overhead view of Gro's office. He and his date are nice and comfortable on the couch as the movie plays on the television. *Smo and Hubb begin whispering to each other. Smo: Awww..they're cuddling. Hubb: Ewwww...they're cuddling. Smo: Why can't I get a date? Hubb: Good question. Why can't I get a date? Smo: I don't know, but at least you've got girls to talk to. Hubb: True, true. I haven't had anything like this in a long time though. *Smo signals for Hubb to be quiet as Gro and the girl begin talking. Girl: This place is a nice a quiet. I really like it. Gro: Yea. I was hoping Smo and Hubb wouldn't be here though. They're likely to pull some sort of joke. Girl: They seem like a couple of dorks. Surely they'll leave you alone just for tonight. Gro: Yea. Maybe we'll get lucky. *The girl leans up and kisses and Gro on the cheek. Gro's face lights up and he smiles real big. *Smo and Hubb begin laughing and signaling to each other. Gro: You like this movie so far? Girl: I haven't been watching the movie. I'm just happy to be here with you..in your arms. I've totally forgotten about the movie. *The camera goes back to Smo and Hubb as they converse from above. Smo: What the hell is this?! Hubb: *jaw hanging wide open* ...... Smo: *hits Hubb* What's up with this?! Hubb: *snaps back to reality* I don't know. Why did you hit me?! Smo: I don't know if you noticed but your jaw was about to hit Gro on the head. Hubb: Whatever man! *hits Smo* *Smo goes off balance and tries to brace himself but he falls through the ceiling and lands on the floor in Gro's office. *Hubb curses and hurriedly gets away from the scene. *Smo, with his quick thinking, notices a screwdriver under Gro's desk. He quickly grabs and slowly gets to feet. Smo: *acting like he didn't realize he was in Gro's office* Hubb! I found it! *Gro begins coughing from the dust and debris floating in the air. Smo: *acts like he's startled* Oh...uhh...hey guys. I didn't realize where I was. Hubb....uhh..Hubb and I were trying to fix something above the studio and..uhh.. I guess we worked our away across the ceiling. Heh....*looks up trying to find Hubb*....Hubb? Hubb?!....ehhh..sorry guys... *slowly exits the office. Girl: What was that all about? Gro: They were spying on us. Girl: Why would they do that? Gro: They find it hard to believe that I have a girl in here with me watching movies. Girl: Well I can understand why. It's a good thing I'm being paid for this. Gro: *saddened look appears on his face* Oh...heh... I almost forgot. *Camera fades to black* |
